There's strong evidence from “whistle-blowers” within the EPA confirming the agency’s findings that fracking is safe had been strongly influenced by fracking industry pressure. This most likely led to, or at least accompanied, their getting a corrupt exemption from the Safe Drinking Water Act of 2005!
